Gallery M Exhibits Papa Gora Tall

PAPA GORA TALL AT GALLERY M
Gallery M is pleased to welcome the artist Papa Gora Tall back to Gallery M with a new exhibition of his paintings.  Papa Gora Tall came to the United States in 2000 from Senegal, where he studied art at the Ecole de Beaux Arts.  His work was included in a Gallery M group show not long after that.  In a recent conversation, the artist reported that after the opportunity of having his work seen at the Gallery, he was offered many
shows.

The new exhibition will include works in acrylic on canvas, approximately twelve in all, with one mixed media piece.  Below is a work entitled Melody, which shows the artist’s penchant for utilizing strong colors and his keen graphic sensibility.  Papa Gora Tall is not only a fine artist, but also works in the interior and graphic design fields.

Papa Gora Tall currently works out of a studio in Jersey City, where he is involved in the Hudson Artists’ Organization.  There he works with children and senior citizens, helping them to develop and enjoy the creative arts. Despite his Jersey City workplace, the artist is back and forth to New York, and Harlem in particular, which he terms his “spiritual home.”

The exhibition will on view beginning March 18th, 2011 through May 12, 2011.  The opening reception will take place on Saturday, April 2nd, from 4-8 pm.

There will be two artist lectures taking place at the following times:

Thursday, April 7th from 2-3 pm
Saturday, April 16th from 3-4 pm

The closing reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 7th , 5-8 pm.
